The New Mexico Tourism Department is looking to collect vital information on the economic impact on the tourism and hospitality industry from COVID-19. This information will help NMTD better understand the economic injury and will direct our efforts to build recovery strategies that work best for New Mexico. NMTD is looking to solicit input from 9 sectors:

  • Destination Marketing Organizations
  • Hotels, Resorts & Lodging
  • Restaurants
  • Retail & Galleries
  • Events & Event Planners
  • Attractions & Cultural Institutions
  • Meetings & Conventions
  • Airports & Transportation
  • Tour Operators

In order to understand the trends that shaped this impact, NMTD is hoping to capture this vital information on a WEEKLY BASIS. We hope you can help spread the word to businesses and organizations in Taos to help by reporting the economic impact information to NMTD. The more input we receive, the better we can understand the scope of the economic impact, and the more efficient a recovery strategy we can ultimately build.

While we are collecting information on a weekly basis, businesses and organizations can back report on previous weeks and/or timeframes if time has passed (there is an item in the survey to indicate for what week the survey is for). Commerce Analyst, Tristan Collar, is available to provide technical assistance in completing any of these reports.

If you or any of your local partners who wish to report would like weekly reminders to report weekly economic impact, anyone can sign up for weekly reminders here.

Thank you!
